Fernando Gómez grew up in the Segundo Barrio in El Paso, TX. He studied English and Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin BA, studied Professional Poetry Writing at the University of Denver University College MA, and is currently working on Arts and Culture Management degree at the University of Denver. Fernando considers himself a public intellectual and is passionate about social, cultural, and educational issues. His poetry is drawn to thoughts of shame, vulnerability, compassion, and worthiness that enter the edifice of the night. His recent work can be found in the All the Lives We Ever Lived Vol. 2, Lighthouse Writers Workshop. He is currently working in Higher Education.
